This has only peripherally to do with Go, but I spent over 10 hours in a community center in tukwila today at Mindcamp having an absolute ball.  I was honored to have the chance to share some of my love of Go with several people there in an informal session in a lovely little fireside room with my fine new Go set.  We talked a little about the history, the rules, and perhaps some reasons why otherwise geeky people could find lots to be interested in about Go, and I met some wonderful people and exchanged contact info.  I didn’t take any pictures (clearly a mistake) but i was so busy talking and thinking about what to talk about in the brief 50 minute span that I never took the opportunity.  It was nice to meet someone at Mindcamp (Miles VanP) who I knew a long while back at UW, and to see that he also was interested in and familiar with my favorite game.

UPDATE:  I left this half completed entry on my desk for the last 5 hours, as I work an overnight oncall shift which has gone horribly awry.  I’m hoping this outage will get resolved so I can go to bed in the next hour, but I have no mental energy left to finish a post right now.  But I promise that tomorrow after some coffee and clear thinking I will update further and give a solution/explanation for my last posted problem.  Dawn is rising at my window and my conference call is getting busy again….
